Not much about the Royal nuptials was a secret but did you know the beautiful brunette actually walked down the aisle in flats? Let us all breathe a sign of relief… if the most photographed woman in the world can rock a pair of flats this surely gives us carte blanche for comfort on our wedding day!
It is unlikely many of us will be walking the 321ft aisle Kate had to on her big day but with the worries of under floor grating and floor length hems – we need the safest of sturdy soles! Designers including Giuseppe Zanotti and Georgina Goodman were originally commissioned to design shoes for the big day but being sensibly British Kate decided against the teetering heels in favour of the more comfortable yet delicate lace pumps she donned on the day.

This choice has caused a sensation amongst brides to be and the recent surge of pretty ballerina flats has as much to do with our new Duchess of Cambridge as with the winter ballerina blockbuster ‘Black Swan’. But whatever we can put the beautiful array of pumps on the high street down to - flats are bang on trend for this season’s weddings.
